What we deliver
Sand Star Services partners closely with homeowners, engineers, architects, and the city on every build — ensuring each project is safe, compliant, and finished to the smallest detail.

Lead-safe renovation
Many Galveston homes were built before 1978, when lead-based paint was still in residential use. Federal rules require most renovation, repair, and painting work that disturbs painted surfaces in these homes to be performed by an EPA-certified firm using lead-safe work practices.
Sand Star Services is an EPA Lead-Safe Certified Firm, certified only for purposes of Section 402 of the Toxic Substances Control Act to conduct lead-based paint renovation, repair, and painting activities. This certification does not cover lead abatement, inspection, or risk assessment. EPA certification is not an endorsement by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
What to expect
The same four steps on every job in a pre-1978 home, led by an EPA Certified Renovator.
The homeowner receives EPA's Renovate Right pamphlet and signs an acknowledgment.
Work areas are sealed with plastic sheeting, and warning signs are posted.
Dust is cleaned with HEPA vacuums and wet methods, then checked with EPA cleaning verification.
Records of the work practices are kept for at least three years.

We document damage and provide claim-ready scopes and estimates. We are not public insurance adjusters and we do not negotiate or settle your claim with your insurer — Texas law does not permit a contractor to do that on a property it may repair.

Yes — Sand Star Services is insured and bonded, and our rebuilds are completed to windstorm code with documentation.
Our written contract carries a one-year limited express warranty on our workmanship, running from substantial completion. If something covered by it goes wrong, tell us in writing within that year and give us the chance to put it right — that is how the warranty works and it is the remedy it provides. Materials, appliances and equipment carry the manufacturer’s own warranty, which we pass through to you. The full terms, including what is and is not covered, are in the contract.
Have a sense of your goals, your budget range, photos of the space, and any plans or HOA/permit requirements. Don't worry if you only have an idea — we'll help shape the scope.
